Prof. Beatrice Olubukola OGUNBA
Beatrice Olubukola OGUNBA is a Professor of Maternal and Child Nutrition. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Nutrition from University of Ibadan, Ibadan (2007). She was appointed a full Professor in 2014. Her major research activities are focused on Maternal and Child Nutrition addressing issues such as breastfeeding, complementary feeding and maternal nutritional status as it affects both mother and child in the first 1000days. Professor Ogunba has authored two books, first The Dictionary of Nutrition and second Breastfeeding: Getting the Answers. She was the executive producer of Drama for Behaviour Change Communication on Breastfeeding and Complementary Feeding Practices, titled “Fomoloyan Takotabo” which was sponsored by Nestle Foundation. Professor Beatrice Olubukola Ogunba has both National and International Awards to her credit. She was awarded the Nestle Nutrition Institute Africa Scientific Award for Nutrition in Community in the year 2017. She also added the Prestige Anchor Leadership Empowerment and Capacity Building Awards (PALEC 4.0) for Women Empowerment Activist of the year in 2019. She is a fellow of the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Leadership for Environment and Development and African Nutrition Leadership Programme. She is also Member of the following Professional bodies; Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), African Nutrition Graduate Network (AGSNET), Federation of African Nutrition Societies (FANUS), and American Society of Nutrition (ASN).
