Mr. Isaiah Oluwale OMIKUNLE

Mr. Omikunle is a Technologist in the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Isaiah Oluwale Omikunle obtained Higher National Diploma in Food Technology (2006) from the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State. In 2022, he bagged Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Wesley University, Ondo, where he graduated with First Class Honour. Currently, Mr. Omikunle works in the various laboratories in the Department. He teaches the students practical, guides them in the laboratory procedures and assists them during their research works.  He had relevant industrial work experience at the Food Processing Unit of Zartech Nigeria Limited, Oluyole Estate, Ibadan. He is passionate about teaching and he had worked as a teacher and head teacher in some reputable schools in Ibadan. In addition, he has good experience and skills in administrative duties. His hobbies are farming, cooking, writing and photography.

Omikunle Oluwale is an upcoming researcher whose study interest focuses on Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals. He is very much concerned with working on the bioactive substances present in food, especially of plants origin. Particularly, he likes to explore the healing, disease prevention and management properties embedded in fruits and vegetables of tropical and temperate origin. His final year unpublished thesis was about Dietary Knowledge and Consumption of Functional Foods among Public School Teachers in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State. He has one published journal article to his credit and one research paper work in progress.
